Shooter Profile: Kim Jones

Kim-JonesBiography: Born and raised in Charlevoix, a small town in Northern Michigan, Kim was introduced to the outdoors at an early age while hunting and fishing with her brothers. Kim is married to Raymond; together they have a son named Cyril who is making a career in the U.S Army. Kim spent several years working in Restaurant Management and five years as an Automotive Service Writer. To give herself more time on the shooting range, Kim started her own business in 2012 making custom molded hearing protection as well as instructing new shooters. Kim is proud to say that she was the first Woman Officer of The Charlevoix Rod and Gun Club, a place she calls her home club. Kim has volunteered on the Michigan Sporting Clays Association Board of Directors; she also is a National Delegate for the state of Michigan with the National Sporting Clays Association. Years Shooting: In 1997 her husband Raymond bought her a shotgun for her birthday, thinking she would give it a try and give the gun back to him; tough luck Raymond! Discipline: Kim shot trap for three years, and while recovering from ankle surgery she tried Sporting Clays and has been hooked ever since.  Kim learned to shoot from her husband Raymond, Jeff and DeeAnn Massey, Andy Duffy, and Pat Lieske. Accomplishments: 2007, 2011, 2012 Michigan Lady State Sporting Clays Champion 2008, 2009 NSCA All Zone Team Member for Zone III 2012 Second Lady in Michigan Sporting Clays history to reach Master Class 2013 Michigan Allstate Team Member What model do you use/What modifications: After trying a couple of demo guns, Kim received a Summit Limited 32 inch with an Adjustable Comb in September 2013.  The only modifications by her custom stock maker Tom Paine was a change of the recoil pad to increase the length of pull, and an adjustment of the comb. What do you like about your Caesar Guerini: How has it improved your shooting: Kim chose Caesar Guerini because of the quality of the shotgun and their outstanding customer service. Kim knew the first time she picked up her Caesar Guerini Summit Limited that “it felt right, like an extension of my body.”
